Every atelier begins with a founding moment — a quiet threshold crossed before the world takes notice. At Vellum & Vestige, that moment is now.

We are extending a private invitation to twenty inaugural patrons to commission the first archives ever bound by our atelier. These are not early adopters. They are not beta participants. They are the founding witnesses — the twenty who recognized the weight of permanence before it was widely known to exist.

The Founder's 20 is not a promotion. It is a designation. One that will be carried by each volume, and by each patron, permanently.

the founding delivery

A Vellum & Vestige archive deserves an arrival equal to its contents.

Each founding commission is packed by hand at the atelier and dispatched with the same care with which it was assembled — accompanied by a curated selection chosen to mark the occasion.

The archive arrives in a custom-finished presentation box, closed with ribbon. A small ceremony before the larger one.

Each delivery will also include a handwritten Founder's Correspondence from the atelier — not a card, not a certificate, but a letter. The kind that is kept alongside the volume it accompanies.

This level of delivery is extended exclusively to the Founder's 20. It will not be offered again at this threshold.

what it means to be among the first

Each of the twenty inaugural commissions will bear a hand-numbered designation — a permanent record of its place in the origin of the atelier.

Founding patrons will be recognized by name — or by initials, at their discretion — in the Vellum & Vestige Founding Ledger, preserved permanently on this page and within the atelier's own archive. Long after the Founder's 20 has closed, this ledger will remain: a quiet testament to those who anchored the work at its beginning.

the founder's standing

A founding commission carries privileges that do not expire.

Founder's Commission Pricing. The inaugural twenty are extended a private commission rate, offered exclusively at the origin of the atelier and never extended again at this threshold. This is the rate of those who arrived first.

Permanent First Access. As Vellum & Vestige grows — new volumes, new materials, new seasonal commissions — founding patrons will always be offered access before the public. When availability is limited, founders are first.

The Founding Council. We do not ask our founding patrons to complete surveys. We invite them into a quiet correspondence. In the weeks that follow their delivery, we will ask for their witness — what the process held, what the finished volume carried, what they would want the atelier to remember. Their counsel will shape what Vellum & Vestige becomes. This is acknowledged. This is permanent.

The Right of Referral. A founding patron who introduces another patron to the atelier extends to them the Founder's Commission rate — a private gift, passed at their discretion. Yours to give.

twenty commissions. no exceptions.

When the twentieth archive is reserved, the Founder's 20 closes. There will be no extension, no second cohort offered at the founding rate, no exceptions made for late inquiries. The designation is finite because its meaning depends on it.

What remains open, always, is the atelier itself. Future commissions will carry their own distinction — but only twenty will carry this one.
